Welcome Sorors and friends of the Duplin County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. Our chapter was officially chartered on March 12, 2000, by a group of 29 dedicated women. The chartering ceremony was presided over by Mary B. Sutton, the South Atlantic Regional Director at the time. The chapter’s first president was Delilah Gomes. Since its establishment, the chapter has been led by seven different presidents and has successfully initiated multiple lines of membership intake. To date, the chapter has awarded over $200,000 in scholarships to deserving students. Throughout its history, the Duplin County Alumnae Chapter has spearheaded several significant programs and initiatives aligned with the Sorority's Five-Point Programmatic Thrust of:
